From Florida to Arizona: scaling a family crew across four states

Tower climb — antenna installation

In 2018, VORC Quality Services was a family operation, one truck and a handful of sites around Davenport, Florida. Today our crews work across Florida, Colorado, California and Arizona. Here is what scaling actually took — and what we refused to change.

Growth followed the work

Telecom construction doesn’t reward speculation. We never opened a state because a map looked good — we followed customers. Colorado came in 2019 when a client asked us to keep building for them out of Aurora. California came with the work itself: antenna relocation scopes that required a licensed local contractor, so we earned our West & East Region General Building license. Arizona opened in 2025 on the same logic — the Phoenix build pipeline needed crews, and ours were already trusted.

Each state added overhead: registrations, insurance, bonds, local compliance. The lesson we’d give any contractor: let demand pull you. Expansion you have to push is expansion you’ll pay for twice.

What we refused to change

Three things stayed fixed while everything else grew:

  • The owner answers the phone. Customers call a person, not a ticket queue.
  • Every hire goes through the Center of Professional Excellence — no exceptions for busy seasons.
  • Zero injuries is the target. A bigger footprint is never an excuse for a looser standard.

What’s next

Deeper, not wider. Four states give us more work than we can chase; the plan is denser crews in the markets we know, more small cell as carriers densify mid-band 5G, and the same closeout quality on site five hundred as on site one.
